Current Board Members
LCCC selects new Coalition members as current member terms expire or as vacancies arise. The Coalition is comprised of 12 members: two from each of the five County Districts (West Lane, East Lane, Springfield, North Lane, and South Lane), one member from Lane Arts Council (LAC), and one member-at-large.
Kristin Anderson
West Lane County - District #1
Kristin is the President of Florence Regional Arts Alliance and the Treasurer and Marketer for Backstreet Gallery. Kristin has a BS and MS in Engineering from Santa Clara University and an MS degree is Management from National Technology University. She enjoys combining her love of working with people with her love of art, and is dedicated to giving youth the opportunity to have art in their lives.
Marsha Klosterman
West Lane County - District #1
Marsha is a retired middle school teacher of 28 years. She holds degrees from the University of Oregon in the School of Community Service and Public Affairs and from Humbolt State University in Education. She taught history and language arts in Florence where she was involved in a Teaching American History grant, through which she worked with the Lane County History Museum and the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum. She is on the Board of Directors of the Traveling Children’s Heritage Museum and produced a walking tour of historic Old Town in Florence. Marsha now lives in the Cheshire area.
Kathleen Caprario-Ulrich
Springfield - District #2
Kathleen Caprario-Ulrich traded the concrete canyons of New York City for the broad skies of Oregon where she focuses her visual art practice on environmental and social patterning. She is the recipient of a Lane Arts Council Artist Grant, Oregon Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship and Career Opportunity Grants, a Jordan Schnitzer Black Lives Matter Artist Grant and the Modesto Lanzone Mostra Award. Caprario-Ulrich appreciates the importance of public support for contemporary artists and culture bearers and is excited to contribute toward her community and culture through her participation with LCCC.
Aryn Bartley
South Eugene - District #3
Aryn Bartley teaches writing and literature at Lane Community College, where she is also the Coordinator of the Faculty Professional Development program. With a background in theater, Aryn earned her Ph.D. in English from Michigan State University in 2010. Along with her work in the classroom, she currently designs and facilitates therapeutic writing workshops for local nonprofits.
Patrick Hosfield
North Eugene - District #4
Patrick has a masters degree in music and has performed as a vocal soloist, chorus member, and/or conductor around the USA, including locally with the Oregon Bach Festival, Eugene Symphony, and Eugene Concert Choir. He is currently a donor relations officer at Oregon Community Foundation, where he helps generous donors from Lane County and elsewhere plan their charitable giving. He has previously been on the staff of OBF as well as the San Francisco Symphony, Carnegie Hall, and other arts institutions. He lives in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene.
Amelia Reising
North Eugene - District #4
Amelia Reising graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Studio Art, and focused post-graduate studies on non-profit management. Past work as a bookseller, nurses' assistant, display artist, book cover designer, costume- and prop-maker, and bookstore event planner have informed her work as the Founder and Director of Adventure! Children's Museum. She formerly volunteered as Secretary of a local PTA, has read stories to children in parks through the United Way, worked as a substitute preschool teacher at a local preschool co-op, volunteers as mentorship coordinator at a local 4J middle school, and creates public chalk art and artwork for benefit art shows whenever possible. Together with her teenage son and spouse of 20 years, Amelia enjoys geocaching, making things, hiking, and road trips.
Gerry Aster
East Lane County - District #5
Gerry is a retired R.N., makes her home on the McKenzie River and spends much of her time advocating for the arts in her rural community through McKenzie Arts and Culture Collective, a committee under the non-profit McKenzie Community Development Corp. Gerry has a long history of volunteerism and currently volunteers on the boards of many community-based organizations including the Vida McKenzie Community Center and McKenzie ClearWater Coalition. She also volunteers for Eugene Opera.
Cindy Ingram
East Lane County - District #5
Cindy Ingram has lived in the Eugene area for over 25 years. During this time she raised two children, started two non-profit organizations, achieved her Bachelor's degree in Family and Human Services, was an award winning music and festival promoter, a pub cycle business owner, an abstract artist, an activist, a fundraiser, a professional washboard player and an enthusiastic patron of the arts. Cindy is now a full-time flower farmer on her own wholesale flower farm (www.thehappyhillhomestead.com) in Cottage Grove. She enjoys international travel, painting, and filming Tik Toks about flowers.
Heidi Lee Harless
Member-at-Large
Heidi Lee Harless is a Fulbright award-winning educator and designer working to improve the lives of all Oregon students, their families and their communities. Currently, as Project Manager for Oregon Career Connected Learning, she leads teams to build a state-wide Resource Hub for the Oregon Department of Education. With a professional background in technology and design, she has served as an Arts, Information and Communication Advisory Chair, School Board Member and led design efforts for Apple, Microsoft and Adobe. As Chair of the Visual Arts & Design Department at Rogue Community College, she managed art and digital media education as well as training programs in CTE, Work-based Learning, Community Education, STEAM and Teacher Development. She has degrees in Humanities from San Jose University, Visual Communication from the Seattle Art Institute and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Southern Oregon University.
Rachel Knighten
Fiscal Agency Representative
Rachel has been a Spanish instructor at Lane Community College since 2018. Prior to that, she was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley. While in Wisconsin, Rachel was involved in the local performing arts community through dance and as the parent of two youth musicians. She served on multiple boards related to education and the arts in Appleton, WI. She was also a regular cast member of the local annual productions of The Nutcracker, a major community collaboration with professional and youth musical ensembles, and guest artists. She currently serves on the Lane Arts Council board and as a CASA of Lane County.
Talicia Brown-Crowell
South Eugene - District #3
Talicia grew up in San Jose, CA, and moved to Portland to attend Reed College. After receiving her degree, she ran nature outing programs for youth and the free medical clinic at Outside In. Talicia started and ran the drop-in program for teens at Peterson Barn Community Center before leaving youth services to begin her business, Harmony Massage. She was thrown back into the world of social justice work in 2020 following the murder of George Floyd. Talicia created The Black Cultural Initiative to provide community and connection within the local Black community through programs like The Black Cultural Festival and the People’s Collective, Lane County’s first Black community center and business incubator. She also is leading a project to erect a large bronze statue for the first pioneering Black families who once lived at what is now called Alton Baker Park. Talicia has served on the Mayor of Eugene’s Blue Ribbon Panel on Economic Development and was awarded the NAACP’s inaugural Dallas Boggs Community Connector Award. In her free time, she enjoys traveling around the world with her husband and daughter, snorkeling, and camping in the woods. Talicia is a woman of faith and serves humbly.
Dana Abel
South Eugene - District #3
Dana Abel is a musician, performer, teacher, parent and small-business owner. She was born and raised in Lane County and has lived in Eugene for over 40 years. As a founding member of the musical quartet Misty River, Dana released five albums and toured the U.S. and abroad. She served as the executive director for the Oregon Children’s Choir and worked in grant writing and development at non-profit organizations. Dana holds an M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering from the Oregon Graduate Institute (now OHSU) and a B.S. from Stanford University. She believes a region rich in arts and cultural opportunities improves the quality of life for its residents and makes Lane County a vibrant place to work, visit and live.
