Grant Recipients List

For the 2025 calendar year, LCCC was able to fund $51,911 in awards across 23 recipients. Join us in congratulating this year’s grant awardees:

Adventure! Children’s Museum
Adventure!’s Globe Theatre Performance Series  |  $2,400
Short, bi-monthly performances from a variety of disciplines, and theatre enhancements to improve performance experience, including sound barriers to allow performers and audience members to enjoy performances less distracted by ambient exhibit noise.

B.L.A.Q. Youth, Inc.
Soulful Stories  |  $2,500
The Soulful Stories storytelling and literacy enrichment program is designed to cultivate a love for reading among K-5 students, with a focus on books by African American authors. The program provides culturally relevant experiences that promote positive identity development and literacy growth.

C.R.O.W. (Children’s Repertory of Oregon Workshops, Inc.)
Matilda – Children Revolt to Increase Access to the Arts  |  $2,500
C.R.O.W. will perform a mainstage youth musical production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical in Florence in the spring of 2025, including six public performances and two free school outreach shows for approximately 900 students, all at the Florence Events Center.

Center for Applied Learning & Community Impact (CALCI)
Everyone Village Mural  |  $2,500
4J’s Creative Current students will immerse themselves in the process of concept development, designing and painting a mural at Everyone Village, a transitional housing program in west Eugene that serves unhoused individuals.

Clever One Studios
Bringing Live Graffiti Art to Lane County Markets  |  $2,500
Clever One Studios brings the dynamic energy of live graffiti art to several major festivals and cultural events with interactive art booths at community markets, events, and festivals featuring live graffiti demonstrations, allowing attendees to witness graffiti art in progress and engage directly with artists.

DanceAbility International
Community Classes  |  $2,000
DanceAbility employs Certified DanceAbility Teachers based in Lane County to hold community classes at community centers throughout the county, with classes open to all.

Deadwood Creek Services
Oral History and Archives Project  |  $2,000
Following the completion of interviews with Deadwood area residents, DCS will continue their Oral History and Archives Project with transcribing and editing video and audio files, creating a short highlight film, and premiering the film at a celebratory event at the Deadwood Community Center.

Eugene Symphony
Accessing the Arts – Youth Concerts  |  $1,000
Eugene Symphony offers scholarships for 3rd-5th graders to attend the annual Eugene Symphony Youth Concert at no cost, engaging students in a participatory concert at the Hult Center with their local, professional orchestra.

Florence Regional Arts Alliance
Weaving Supporting Emotional Regulation at Siuslaw Middle School  |  $1,750
FRAA introduces weaving into the Siuslaw Middle School Electives Program so the textiles teacher and students can gain skills which will integrate into their curriculum on an ongoing basis. This program will strengthen foundational art classes and broaden students’ modes of expression and self-development.

Free Shakespeare in the Park Theatre Company
Presenting Two Gentlemen of Verona  |  $2,500
In partnership with Amazon Community Center, Free Shakespeare in the Park Theatre Company will produce and present eight free public performances—two of which will include ASL interpreters—of William Shakespeare’s comedy Two Gentlemen of Verona in August 2025.

In Accord Community Choir
Sharing the Songs  |  $529
A secular, a capella choir, In Accord extends their performances to venues providing shelter and services to unhoused persons, domestic violence survivors, and others in temporary or supported housing. In Accord’s repertoire focuses on songs that are uplifting, encouraging, and inclusive.

Oregon Supported Living Program Arts & Culture Center
Scholarship Program  |  $2,500
OSLP offers a scholarship program for individuals for whom tuition costs would otherwise be a barrier to participation; approximately 90% of program participants are considered low income. Scholarships are available for a variety of classes, studio time, and workshops spanning multiple mediums.

Pacific International Choral Festival (picfest)
Musical Detective Academy  |  $2,000
picfest embarks on the pilot year of Musical Detective Academy, a residency teaching the basic building blocks of choral singing and note reading by earning Musical Detective badges and “cracking the code” of music. The program will be piloted at Walterville Elementary and Guy Lee Elementary in 2024-2025.

Shelton McMurphey Johnson House
Marketing for SMJ House  |  $2,5000
To ensure the museum’s continued growth and success, SMJ House is building a Communication Plan to broaden the museum’s audience, expanding the donor base and external fundraising capacity. Grant funds will be used to improve accessibility by offering interpretive materials and advertising in Spanish.

Singing Creek Educational Center
Wings of Hope Spring Break Camp  |  $2,500
In a week of arts-focused day camp, students ages 6-11 will work with Guatemalan artist Marina Hajek at the Cottage Grove Community Center. The camp is offered free of charge to qualifying immigrant families, and artworks generated by the children will be displayed in the Cottage Grove Library.

Springfield History Museum
Local History Nights at the Wildish Theater  |  $2,500
To better share collections with the community, Springfield History Museum will host two Local History Night talks at the Wildish Theater. Selected historians will present public talks highlighting their research, encouraging further engagement with the Museum and Library.

Tomoko Sekiguchi
Artist Badges for the Quest by Cycle Game  |  $2,482
Quest by Cycle functions like a community-based scavenger hunt, encouraging participants to complete everyday tasks in a sustainable and fun way by awarding points and digital badges of achievement. Artist badges will be commissioned from local creators, including K-12 students.

TransPonder
Lavender Network Community Mural Project  |  $2,500
TransPonder partners with HIV Alliance, Queer Eugene, Eugene PRIDE, and the Eugene Performing Arts Center in a new, shared building—The Lavender Network. This mural project will be a collaborative art event, drawing people to the location and cultivating a sense of community ownership in the space.

Upstart Crow Studios
Amplifying Young Performers with Wireless Microphones  |  $2,000
This ongoing effort provides proper technical support to young actors through the replacement, increased inventory, and maintenance of wireless microphones for musical theatre performances. The equipment continues Upstart Crow’s work of replacing previous, obsolete technology.

Vida McKenzie Community Center
Art Lighting & Hanging System  |  $2,500
A new STAS art lighting and hanging system in the assembly room of VMCC will expand its arts and culture programming to enable displays of local art in two-month cycles. The system will help establish The Wooden Door Series, pairing music and art thematically-connected in conversation with a composer.

Will Yurman
West of the Tunnel :: Stories from Lane County’s Coastal Community  |  $2,500
West of the Tunnel hosts online programming connecting coastal neighbors and community. The site is a repository of cultural, social, and economic experiences, starting start conversations and sharing stories. Future stories center on the graduating class at Mapleton High School and the project “Unlivable.”

Willamette Jazz Society / The Jazz Station
JWP Community Education and Performance Grant  |  $2,500
Jammin with the Pros sessions offer amateur and student jazz musicians an opportunity to practice their performance skills in a supportive environment. Grant funds create better community access, defraying musician fees and subsidizing attendance costs for musicians and listeners.

WOW Hall / Community Center for the Performing Arts
Cultural Artist Awareness: Pascuala llabaca  |  $2,250
Award-winning Chilean artist Pascuala llabaca returns to the WOW Hall for their second performance since 2023. CCPA’s Cultural Artist Engagement program subsidizes presentation of international and culturally-significant artists regardless of ticket sales.
